Since 20 more years, the domestic and foreign scientists have developed unceasingly new materials and equipments for water disinfection and purification processing. Such as barreled water popularized family, and quite popular dual water supply and water purifiers, etc new products in the recent years. These products have a good improvement to the purification of drinking water. But, when these products disinfect and purify water, often exist the objection, such as bacterium exceed the standard, the pure water is "too pure", "the healthy water" is not health, etc, which have brought many hidden trouble for the general consumers' health.
In view of the present condition of water purification processing in our country, we well timed researched and developed healthy ceramic material which can have do series processing of antibacterium, softening, purification, mineralization and activation to drinking water. We hope we can increase the brick to add the tile to water purification field.
1. Brief introduction of healthy ceramic material:
1.1 Composing of health ceramic material: Energy Ceramic Ball, Negative Ion Ceramic Ball, Far Infrared Ceramic Ball, Antibacterial Ceramic Ball, Mineral Ceramic Ball, Germanium Ceramic Ball, Multifunctional filter cartridge and ceramic piece, etc.

Healthy ceramic material is made of many kinds of natural polar mineral material and multifunctional healthy ceramic material through compound process and high temperature sinter. That provides omni-directional, and scientific and highly effective solution on water purifier, barrelled water, dual water supply and water heater etc industry! It makes the comprehensive improvement and the promotion for the security and the health of drinking water, bathing water and washing water!
1.4 Processing effect of healthy ceramic material
Water applied healthy ceramic material processing can achieve or surpass the healthy water standard which is initiated by the Chinese drinking water health specialized committee, the effect achieved as following: (1) Do not contain any poisonous, harmful and peculiar smell matter to human body. (2) Hardness of the water is moderate, 50 - 200mg/L. (3) Content and proportion of mineral substance in water are applicable on the requirement of human body in every area. (4) PH value indicates alkalescency (7.2-7.8). (5) The dissolved oxygen and dioxide carbon contented in the water achieve the healthy drinking water standard. (6) Keep long-term small water molecular group (Half peak width ≤85Hz). (7) The nutrition, physiological function (for example water dissolving power, penetrability, diffusive forces, emulsifying ability, clearing power and so on) of the water is stronger.
2. Characteristic of healthy ceramic material:
2.1 Highly effective antibacterial function
The healthy ceramic material series product has the highly effective antibacterial function. It could admirably kills each kind of disease germ and the microorganism in the water, at the same time it can oxidate and decompose the debris of bacterium, not remain any pollutant in the water, namely at the same time achieve antibacterial function also can maintain cleanly. Its antibacterial principle is as follows:
There are massive inorganic compound antibacterial ingredients on the healthy ceramic material interior and the surface, which are on highly active condition. When they contact with water at the moment, may produce massive OH and O free radicals that have greatly oxidized ability. When OH and O free radicals respond with organic matter, its oxidant function does not have selectivity. Through approaches of attacking bacterial cell membrane and destructing bacterial protein etc kill the bacterium and other microorganisms, various organic matter also may be decomposed by OH free radical. After the healthy ceramic material tested by national building materials industry environmental monitor center, its bactericidal rate achieves 99.9% to golden staphylococcus and colibacillus in 24 hours.
2.2. Capability of purifying water:
There are two kinds of products that have the function of purifying water in healthy ceramic material product. They are micropore ceramic ball and micropore ceramic filter cartridge.
Micropore ceramic ball has the micropore structure and certain roughness on the surface. Its space is mutually sealed and independent, which is stochastic compound pore structure of compact structure and non-compact structure. The micropore structure makes it have strong adsorbing and filtration effect. When water passes micropore ceramic ball, utilizing its unique micropore structure and strong adsorbing function can effectively remove impurity, such as organic matter, and heavy metal in the water.
Micropore ceramic filter cartridge is made of the diatomaceous material and multifunctional healthy ceramic material by carefully compounded refining. At the same time guaranteeing the filter precision, removing the heavy metal ion in the water, fully getting rid of residual chlorine, organic chemical matter, color and peculiar smell in the water, it also has the function of antibacterial and activated water.
The normal washing time of multi-purpose micropore ceramic filter cartridge is 100 ~ 120. Take general family as the example, the ceramic filter cartridge could be used 3 to 5 years, which is over two times of the service life of hollow silk membrane. How soon to clean a time will be proper, that decides according to the water quality and the using situation.
2.3 Functions of mineralized water
There are two kinds of products that have mineralized function in healthy ceramic material series product. They are mineral ceramic ball and functional ceramic piece. When the mineral ingredient in its component contact water, under the activation of energy field it can be turned into the condition of very easy ionization, and can unceasingly dissolve out various microelement that is necessary for human body, such as K, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, etc. Due to the mineral ball will have the ion balanceable state in water dissolution, when the quota mineral ball and quota water exist, the continual dissolution of the mineral ball in the water will achieve a balanceable state and not dissolve out.
The mineral ball is tested by national inorganic salt product quality surveillance test center. It can dissolve out Ca: 14 u g; Mg: 9 u g; K: 16 u g; Fe: 38 u g; Zn: 17.5 u g; Selenium 1 u g; Strontium 1 u g and so on, many kinds of microelement which is beneficial for the health of human body health in 1 litre water, and can maintain this proportion to be invariable.
2.4 Function of activated water:
Ordinary drinking water (Fig.1) is complexing macromolecule group water, and the angle between O-H key of the water is approximately 105°. When outside acts on it, the angle between them is easy to change. Because the ability that macromolecule group water participates in body biochemistry reaction, lipid metabolism is bad, even if this kind of water is too pure, it also cannot be commendably absorbed by the cells in human body, and the organism and the chromosome. At the same time, this kind of water with ring-like condensation structure is very easy to contain poisonous and harmful organic matter, which will harm the health of human body.
The healthy ceramic material has strong ability of far infrared rays radiation, when the ordinary water contacts it at the instantaneous, the strong far infrared rays radiated by the product intensely shake to the molecular grouping structure, destroy and break its hydrogen bond. Then the macromolecule group bunch water become micro-molecule group water which only contains 5 ~ 6 small water molecule (Fig. 2).
After being activated treatment by healthy ceramic material, water keeps a glittering and translucent look and wonderful taste, owing to its unique molecular structure and activated index, and functions, for instance, strong penetrability, diffusive forces, the dissolving power, metabolism strength, toxicity elimination ability, as well as oxygen supply. Drinking active water can quickly adjust electrolyte balance of human body, quench thirst, and eliminate alcohol and fatness. At the same time also it can whet the appetite, aid digestion, and promotion metabolism.
Healthy ceramic materials were tested on its half peak width of O2 by Nankai University, after being soaked on the different quantity and the different time, involving nine groups of data, of which the maximum is 91.17Hz, the minimum value is 66.62Hz. The half peak width of ordinary tap water is 124.2 Hz, which confirmed this product caused the ordinary tap water to be activated into the small molecular water in some short time, for about more than 150 hours.

2.5 Function of adjusting PH value
In the long process of life evolution, human body forms a relatively stable inner environment with the alkalescence. 7.04 is a general PH value of human being’s body fluid, in a regular basis, in other words, human body could be under the most balance and healthy state when in the leaning alkalinity condition. Unfortunately, the unhealthy eating habits of modern people to massively take the high protein, high fat meta-acid food, which make human physique acidity easily, causing bodily function weaken, metabolism slowing down, each kind of metabolism waste uneasy to be discharged, the internal organs burden be aggravated, together wit some familiar behave of easily being wearily, getting angry, or got constipation, cold, even some chronic such as hypertension. On the contrary, when the human body is at the normal alkalescency condition, metabolism can be more active, the inner waste easily to be discharged, while the bodily immunity is also strong and people will not so easy to get sick.
To water, the determinant of its acidity and alkalescence is the content of mineral and microelement. We carried out acidity and alkalescence test to multiMultifunctional Tourmaline Ball. The test data of table 2 shows that, multifunction mineral ceramic ball can adjust PH value of tap water into leaning alkalinity, according to our acidity examine of it. With the increase of dosage and time lengthening, the alkalescence will be enhanced, until its summit of about 8.0.

3.Test of conductance, dissolved oxygen and TDS to healthy ceramic materials:
3.1 testing instrument: JPB-607 dissolved oxygen tester; DDS-11AT numeral conductance tester; the electric conduction solid particle TDS tester (Manufactured by Korea company).
3.2 experimental materials: antibacterial activated ceramic ball (pink, white, black) 20g, some deionized water.
3.3 experimental conditions: test under room temperature (about 20℃). Keep the experimental environment neutral as far as possible, in order to avoid the effect on the value of conductance and TDS, for the reason of reducing error.
3.4 Experimental procedures: Put 20kg of antibacterial ceramic balls (white, pink, black) into four beakers with deionized water, test the conductance, dissolved oxygen and the value of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) every 30 minutes. Put the test result in the table, and observe its rule.
3.5 Experimental results:
(1) the testing result of multifunction ceramic ball affecting on the conductance (Fig 3).
You might see from Fig 3 that, three sorts of multifunction ceramic balls improve the water conductance more remarkably than the blank one. The conductance rises slowly along with the times going by, which indicates that water conductance and the time is in direct ratio.
Because the multifunction ceramic ball has the function of activating water and supplement mineral substance, so after big molecule groups are turned into small groups, the activity of the isolated mineral ion is increasing, the gross of conduction ions that can dissolved in water is increasing, and conductance rises. In which the influence of white ceramics ball on conductance is the most obvious, which getting 148.1 S.Cm-1 in 150 minutes. Therefore, multifunction antibacterial ceramic ball can affect the value of water conductance, which may increases along with the time lengthening, and achieved a stable balance state in a certain value.
(2) The test result of multifunction ceramic ball affecting on the dissolved oxygen rate of water (Fig 4).
You can see from Fig 4 that, three sorts of multifunction ceramic balls improve the quantity of dissolved oxygen in water more remarkably than a blank one. Its quantity changes along with the times going, which indicates a tendency of rising first and then dropping. In which the value of dissolved oxygen of white ceramic ball reaches the maximum of 9.9mg/L within 60 minutes. At the 30th minute, the dissolved oxygen values of the black ball, the white ball, and the blank sample meet in a point, and at the 90th minute, the value of the blank sample, the pink and the white also meet in a point.
(3) Test result of that multifunction ceramic ball influences on TDS of water (Fig 5).
You can see from Fig 5 that, TDS of three sorts of multifunction ceramic balls in water increases more remarkably than a blank one. The number rises in generally, along with the times going, in which the value of TDS affecting on pink ceramics ball reaches its maximum. At the 90th minute, TDS value reaches the maximum. And the value of black and white ceramic balls indicates a stable rising tendency. It is obviously that the value of white one reaches 102 ppm at the 150th minute, for the reason that the number of electric particles and conductance is in direct ratio.
4. Solution of healthy ceramic materials in water clarifier, barreled water, and dual water supply:
There are several types of water clarifier, including two-step filtrations, three-step filtrations, UF filtration, Nano filtration, RO (Reverse Osmosis) water purifier, etc, containing three-step prepositive filtration, one-step Reverse Osmosis precise filtration, and one-step postpositive filtration. They can partly eliminate bacteria, virus, heavy metal, pesticide, organic substance, as well as special colors and tastes etc. So they can purify water quality. However, most water from purifier is only pure, but without activation and mineral substance. It can affect our health after long-time drinking.
The dual water supply system means that tap water is re-purified process basing on drinking in a building, a community or a city. And it is distributed to users by special pipeline. Although comparing with tap water, this kind of water has high degree of sterilization and purity. But it does not have functions of water mineralization and activation as we hope.
The healthy ceramic material of new generation has functions of highly effective antibacterial, water activation, purification and mineralized. By adding some healthy ceramic materials in the anterior section, middle or the end water clarifier or the dual water supply system, which can healthfully dispose the water and reach the standard of healthy drinking water.
5. Solution of healthy ceramic material in water heater
The incrustation and corrosion problem of electric water heater boiler is one of puzzles disturbing this industry. We can find out that, from the design goal and characteristic of the multifunction ceramic ball, also from its effectivity of preventing the accumulated dirt of water tank and pipeline in inhabitant districts and office buildings, this product can not only anti-bigriming but also activating water.
We infer its action mechanism as follows:
1) Massive strong oxidants in water can attack bacterium’s cell membrane, damage their protein even DNA, make bacteria deactivated, and then decomposing bacteria’s corpse and form a condition without second pollution. When bacteria, the microorganism and the colloid it produced in water are largely reduced, various inorganic impurities will be not easy to deposit and form dirt and hard dirt on pipeline surface. And even if there is accumulation of soft dirt, it can float in water or slightly stick to metal surface, which can be washed with water.
2) Free radicals of hydroxyl in water can largely increase the number of free radical inside algae, as the sudden increasing of excessive free radicals and body cannot clear it, results in the radicals will attack each part of algae cells, and results in destruction of membrane system integrity, disconnection of DNA, termination of algae’s life, and finally decomposes organic matter of algae.
3) Because hydroxyl free radical has strong oxidized ability, and the bond energy of the C-C key, the C-H key, the C-N key, the C-O key, the O-H key, and the N-H key are respectively 83Kcal/mol, 99Kcal/mol, 84Kcal/mol, 111Kcal/mol, and 93Kcal/mol. And the oxidation energy of hydroxyl free radical is bigger than 120Kcal/mol, which can cut above bond easily. So organic compound in water can be definitely decomposed in this kind of environment, and finally harmless.
4) In this alkalescent environment, Ca2+ /Mg2+ /Fe2+ in water cannot form carbonate deposition, and form hydroxide with better solubility, thus preventing the dirt scaling.
5) Deactivation of Bacterium and algae in water when in alkalescent environment, as well as decomposition of organic matter, make it form dirt (silicates) under the condition of without microbes not form bacterium membrane and adhere on vessel surface.
6) As water under the static state, its system has the dynamic equilibrium of reactivity, keeps it active and alkalescence, and under the floating condition, because of the thermal reaction as well as the pressure friction, it can speed up the process of above reactivities. Therefore, no matter under dynamic or static state, the states of water activation, antibacterial and micro-molecule all exist.
While above chemical happens, the multifunction ceramic ball launches 4-16 um far infrared ray, which could disperse water of molecule cluster (which normally gather 60-130 molecules) into micro-molecule groups (5-6 little molecules in general), therefore increase the release of the filthy material micro nucleus being wrapped by water molecules, enhance the activation of water scaling matter and destruct the condition of dirt producing and deposit on pipe wall, making the probability of scaling matters forming some dispersing deposition in water far more higher than on pipe walls. After 15 minutes of multifunction ceramic ball contacting water, it can carry out its far infrared anti-scaling function.
The scaling ingredient size test of ceramic ball, carrying on by Nanjing Science and Technology University, indicate that multifunction ceramic ball can be able to effectively prevent the formation of dirt in water heater, in this machine’s simulative heating process.
