FAQ of antibacterial powder

Q: One producer in the paint puts Nano Silver Antibacterial Powder in the pail of the paint, when the pail closed tightly the paint doesn’t produce bacterium; some times later, the paint will become black, very black. That’s why? Whether it is because silver ion is oxidized or not?
A: I think probably after you offer Nano Silver Antibacterial Powder to your producer in paint he puts the powder directly into the paint. I don’t know whether my guess is right or wrong? If it is so, the first, its Nano Silver Antibacterial Powder Paint certainly has antibacterial function. Your paint producer has proved this. The second when he opened the paint pail, the surface of the paint would become yellow, become dark. That is very normal. As you know, nano silver ion after being oxidized its color will work to a change and that is the fact. That is actually a difficult problem in the world. Our factory and the technologic person have researched passivation technology of naon silver ions for one and a half years, but at present we haven’t solved this problem. So that under current technology condition apply nano silver antibacterial paint, the best way is: 1) sealed packing, not let the air filter into the packing pail and the pail is better in dark or black color because black color can avoid the light. 2) Every pail of naon silver antibacterial paint should be used up quickly after opening 3) When spraying or coating must use the paint sprayer to make the paint present spraying status instead of drop. Spray or coat the wall, it should not to spray or coat too heavy it’s better even or thin …… Your paint producer uses nano silver antibacterial paint, I guess his methods probably doesn’t pay attention to the above three methods, esp. when he applies I estimated the thickness is too bigger and spray or coat is not even.

Q: I am interested in ‘Nanometer Silver Antibacterial Powder, Type 1’. However I still have a few more questions:
-It states that it is over 5% silver, what is the other 95% of the product?
-What I am planning to use it for is to add to my grout when laying tiles on our bathroom floor and to add to the paint that I will be putting on the walls. Would you know what amount or percentage of your powder that I would need to use to make the antibacterial product effective?
-What amount should I order to best use the weight limits if using FedEx?
-What is the cost of the product and how do you accept payment?
A: The answers to your questions as following:
-It states that it is over 5% silver, what is the other 95% of the product? The other 95% is Type P nanometer SiO2.
- Would you know what amount or percentage of your powder that I would need to use to make the antibacterial product effective? Suggest dosage: 0.5%~3%.
-What amount should I order to best use the weight limits if using FedEx? 1kg or 2kg
-What is the cost of the product and how do you accept payment? USD 44.10/kg on FOB Shenzhen, China. Paid by T/T. Once upon receiving your payment, we will deliver the powder to you ASAP.

Q:My objective with using the nanometer powders is to create a more bacterial resistance environment in our home, I will be setting ceramic tiles in the bathroom, painting interior and exterior walls, varnishing wood surfaces, pouring cement etc. With the cement floor, I would finish it with paint or urethane coating, so I would add the nanometer products to that – or, I could sprinkle it on the top as we worked the surface of the cement smooth and imbed it that way. Therefore, I need to know how much I would add to a gallon (4 liter) paint can –I might need to know a liquid ratio. If I use the zinc & silver nanometer powders together, would they compliment, intensify or cancel our each other’s properties?
A:As for the ratio, I suggest 1.8%, namely for 1kg paint, should add 18g powder. Certainly, the more you add better effect you will gain. That won’t influence each other’s properties. But that will increase your cost.

Q:What is the cost of the product and how do you accept payment? > USD 44.10/kg on FOB Shenzhen, China. Paid by T/T
-I am not sure what “on FOB Shenzhen, China, Paid by T/T” means?
- Do you take Paypal or Bidpay?
-Would you by any chance have a copper power similar to the silver?
Just to get an idea of a total cost, If I wanted 5/kg of the silver and 5/kg of the copper (if you have any). With the FedEx shipping charges included, what would I have to send to you in US dollars?
A:As for FOB Shenzhen, China, it is one kind of price terms, namely Free On Board Shenzhen, China. T/T means telegraphic transfer, and the detailed operations pls kindly inquire your local bank counter.
We accept payment by T/T no matter you adopt what kind of credit card. But we don’t accept Paypal or Bidpay. Kindly understand us.
As copper powder you mentioned, I don’t know your specific use and purpose pls kindly let me know. Nanometer Silver Antibacterial Powder is not equal to silver powder. If you hope to reach the antibacterial effect, I suggest Nanometer Zinc Oxide Powder to you. Because silver powder with 200mesh (purity is 99.9%) is very expensive, while Nanometer Zinc Oxide Powder is rather cheaper.

Q:The silver packages with the "Inorganic Antibiotic Powder", the nanometer silver, why is there an expiry date on it?
A:Most products have a expiry date, not permanent.

Q:Do the properties start to break down once the bag is opened -therefore giving the opened bag an even shortened expiry date?
A:No, the expiry date of two powders is the same.

Q:Will sunlight affect the long term properties once added to a product?
A:No, it won’t. The sunlight is helpful for powders to radiate negative ion.

Q:Do you mean that you will add the powders to your outdoor painting and use for outdoor?
A:We do not think it is a good way for a antibacterial effect for it will fall off one day by raining or wind.

Q:I am glad to have the 2 powders as I have mixed them together (50/50 split) & am using it where ever there is a potential of future moisture in the wall and foundation areas. I wonder if spiders’ eggs & young hatchlings can live in the silver nanometer environment.
A:We do not think it is a good way for a antibacterial effect for it will fall off one day by raining or wind. Here, we have to remind you a very important thing before your work. That is: before use our powders to cement, you should put onto some priming one or two times. Generally, cement outer wall is alkalescent. In that way (use some priming) can avoid anti-alkaline fastness, bubble, seasoning check and hiding power, etc. Following is our “Instruction for Use” of our outer wall pigment. Spiders’ eggs and young hatchlings can survive in the silver nanometer environment, but we are not sure about how the extent is like.

Q:Why do they have a shelf life?
A:Every product will have a shelf life so that we have to buy new ones for our use.

Q:What deteriorates with Nano Zinc and Silver Powder? Do they also loose their properties when placed in/with another product?
A:Theoretically speaking, there is no any side effect to be put into other products. And they will not affect its properties.

Q:Can your Nano Silver Antibacterial Powder endure to the high temperature of 1185-1200 degrees?
A:Regarding the Nano silver Antibacterial Powder, I am sure that with some special technology it can be used at more than 1250 degrees for ceramic production. But we can’t provide any technology of it; we can only provide you the Powder. It is widely used on PVC, textile, ceramic etc and the effect of antibacterial is long-term.
